Beauty
How do you define beauty? To me, beauty is more of a sense than outward appearances. I find nothing more beautiful than someone owning and honoring themselves and all that makes them unique. A quiet confidence that is all at once soft and strong, kind, open and authentic.
Do you have a favorite beauty ritual?
Without a doubt, my evening skin care routine. I literally get giddy thinking about it and never skip. Never. Double cleanse with a warm towel, hydrosol and serum… oh I'm sorry, I was day dreaming.
Your favorite all natural remedy?
Raw Manuka honey! Great for coughs, sore throats, face masks and blemishes. It really is a miracle ingredient.
Your favorite Beauty product or supplement you can’t live without?
Favorite beauty product hands down would be our face serum. I may be slightly addicted to the smell of it too. Moisturizing is one of the most important steps in slowing down the signs of aging. Sunscreen too, so do both!
Im not really big on taking supplements, but I love Green Vibrance. My sister introduced me to this green drink over 10 years ago and it is something I always have on hand. I notice a difference in my energy levels and my skin when I take it.

Wellness
How do you integrate self-care into your life? Some days are easier than others. When I can, I love yin yoga or taking a walk with my girlfriends. Both feed my soul. On a daily basis and no matter what is going on, my skin care routine doubles as my time to replenish and care for myself. It’s amazing what a few minutes of quiet pampering can do for the spirit.
What does “self-love” mean to you?
Self-love means honoring and accepting ourselves for exactly who and where we are at any given time in our lives. Keeping the ego and its judgments and criticisms in check is a great way to practice self-love. Most of us are too hard and unforgiving with ourselves. I say this as though I have mastered it!!
How do you deal with disappointment or difficult periods?
I tend to retreat but have realized that I need to talk things out otherwise I have a tendency to get in my head and chase my tail around, which is very unproductive. I can always rely on my husband to provide solid, unemotional advice, but when I’m a little more on the emotional side or its about him (lol), I call my sister. She is wonderful at backing me up, breaking it down and helping me get back to center.
Inspiration
Best piece of advice you’ve most recently received?Recently, “done is better than perfect.” I could have used that advice many years ago. I have realized that I had many times held myself back by trying to get things “perfect” when in reality, it was more fear than perfection that got in my way of getting things done. Telling myself this has really helped me move things along.
Who or what inspires you?
My daughters inspire me every day. They are kind and two of the sweetest souls I have ever met. They inspire me to be brave and share more of myself with others. They inspire me to be better, to do better and to laugh more.
Favorite way to show kindness?
I have two, smiling and being present. One is easier for me than the other.
Advice you’d give to your 10 year younger self?
Where to begin?! I have wasted way too much time over the years reacting to the people and events around me. So, I would remind my younger self not to get distracted by other people’s opinions and agendas and not to waste any precious time seeking approval outside yourself.
