10 Ways to Use Your Face Oil | Renee Wood, Orenda Skin Care

My hero product is most certainly my face oil. Specifically, Orenda’s Illuminating Face Serum. Why you might ask? Because facial oils are wonderful multitaskers. They provide a little extra punch on the day’s my skin is in need of some extra TLC and they are the perfect travel companion, especially when packing space is tight.

Here are some way’s you may not have thought of to help you get the most out of your little bottles of liquid gold.

1. As a booster:
On the days your skin may need an added boost of moisture or extra TLC, try adding a few drops of your favorite face oil to your moisturizer.

2. Spot treat:
Spot treat dry flaky areas by dabbing a little nourishing oil on those little trouble spots. This works for elbows too!

3. Hair:
Treat the ends of your hair to some added moisture. Rub a few drops between the palms of your hands and apply to the ends before blow drying or afterwards to tame any pesky flyaways.

4. Make up:
For a luminous and healthy finish, apply a drop or two of your favorite face oil to your foundation prior to applying or as a base just before applying foundation. You’ll find your make up goes on velvety smooth with a healthy glow.

5. Highlight:
Tap a tiny amount to your cheekbones, brow bones and cupids bow as a finishing touch to your makeup for a glowing, fresh finish.

6. Cuticles:
Moisturize and treat cuticles. Give your cuticles special treatment by rubbing in a drop or two onto them to instantly soften. I also like to rub in any left over oil after my facial application onto my hands.

7. Body:
Don’t neglect your body. Add a few drops to your body lotion for a luxurious treat. You may also find your lotion glides on more effortlessly with the addition of oil.

8. Calm irritations:
Face oils contain concentrated plant oils that can instantly calm skin irritations. Plus, they create a moist barrier to protect raw, over exposed or peeling skin. Our Illuminating Face Serum has been a life saver when my skin has been over exposed to the elements or chemical treatments.

9. Make up remover:
Now, hear me out. I would recommend using a product with less exotic and less expensive oils as a make up remover, however, in a pinch a face oil will do just fine. I have been know to use our Illuminating Serum on camping trips when packing space is limited and I need to remove my sunscreen at the end of the day.

I simply apply as a first cleanse, wipe clean with a damp cloth/napkin. Its actually a little bit of a luxurious experience while roughing it in the woods. This also makes for a great eye makeup remover. Waterproof mascara doesn't stand a chance. I seriously do not travel anywhere without it!

10. Lips:
So soothing on dry and cracked lips. Simply tap in a small drop to both lips and follow with a lip balm to seal it all in.

So there you have it! All the many ways I love to utilize my face oil.

I would love to hear if you have any extra ways you like to use yours. Tell me belo or send us an email!

XOXO,

Renee
